A small residential district just west of Pacific University with a dense concentration of Victorian, Queen Anne, and Craftsman houses built between the 1880s and the 1920s. The houses face onto wide tree-lined streets -- College Way, A Street, and the cross streets -- and most are still in private use.
The district is best appreciated on foot. The walking tour, available at the Forest Grove visitor centre, covers about a mile and identifies thirty or so significant houses, several of which appear on the National Register of Historic Places. The Stephen and Parthena Blank House on College Way and the Dr. W. R. Taylor House on A Street are among the finest. No buildings are open to the public, but the streetscapes are well preserved.
