Bogart's Tavern is one of the oldest continuously operating taverns in Pennsylvania, in business at the same crossroads since 1796. The current stone building has the low ceilings and small windows of a colonial-era roadhouse, with a long wooden bar in the main room and a stone fireplace in the back. The kitchen turns out solid American pub food — burgers, steaks, fish and chips, a decent crab cake.
The tavern stands at the bend of Bridge Valley Road, just south of Route 202, and looks much as it would have in the carriage days. Locals come for the bar, the regulars know each other, and a stranger walking in gets nods rather than stares. Worth a stop if you are driving the Bucks County back roads.
