Downtown Greenville is compact and genuinely walkable. Falls Park, Main Street, the West End, and the museum district to the north are all within comfortable walking distance of each other — the entire core is about a mile and a half from end to end.
On foot: The best way to see the city. The Swamp Rabbit Trail, a paved multi-use path, runs along the Reedy River from downtown north through the Cleveland Park area and eventually connects to Traveler's Rest, 15 miles north. It is popular with cyclists and joggers.
By bicycle: The Swamp Rabbit Trail makes cycling practical for reaching Cleveland Park and the zoo. Bikes can be rented from several shops near the trailhead downtown.
By car: Necessary for anything outside the downtown core, including the zoo, the highway access points, and day trips to the mountains. Parking downtown is straightforward; the city operates several free or low-cost garages.
Rideshare: Uber and Lyft operate throughout the city and are the easiest option for getting from the airport to downtown.
