When to Go

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best seasons. Temperatures are mild, the parks are green, and the outdoor spaces along the Reedy River are at their most pleasant. Spring also brings the Euphoria food and wine festival in September and the BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament in May, both of which draw visitors from across the region.

Summer is hot and humid — highs regularly reach the low 90s Fahrenheit — but the city's walkable core and abundant shade make it manageable. The Greenville Drive baseball season runs from April through September, which is the main reason to visit in summer.

Winter is mild by Southern standards, with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing. Falls Park and downtown remain lively year-round, and the Peace Center's season peaks in winter with its Broadway series.
