Greenville Zoo

A compact city zoo in Cleveland Park, open since 1960. The collection focuses on African and South American species — giraffes, flamingos, giant anteaters, and spider monkeys among them — and the walkable size means you can cover the whole zoo in two to three hours. It is set inside Cleveland Park, a pleasant green space along the Reedy River that is also worth walking for its own sake. A good option for families or for anyone who wants a break from downtown.
