Chattanooga's food scene has grown well beyond its Southern roots, though you can still find excellent barbecue and comfort food. The Bluff View Art District, perched above the river, is the most atmospheric dining area -- a cluster of restaurants in restored historic buildings with terrace seating and river views. Downtown and the North Shore's Frazier Avenue corridor both have a solid range of options, from casual to upscale. The Southside neighborhood around Main Street has become the newer hub for inventive restaurants and craft breweries.
