Johnson City's food scene punches above its weight for a mid-sized Appalachian city, driven partly by the university crowd and partly by the influx of outdoors-focused visitors. The downtown around Founders Park has a good selection of restaurants, several excellent craft breweries with food programs, and a solid farmers market on Saturday mornings in season.
