Thomas Hughes's own house in Rugby, built in 1884. He lived here only briefly — most of his time was still spent in England, and he visited the colony just twice — but the cottage has been preserved with much of the furniture he shipped over from London. The interior is small, dim, and unmistakably Victorian.
Tours run from the Historic Rugby visitor centre. The walk between Kingstone Lisle, Christ Church, and the library takes about ten minutes and forms the standard short circuit through the village.
