Brigham City has four distinct seasons. Spring (April-May) is pleasant for birding at the Bear River refuge — shorebirds and waterfowl are at their most numerous during migration, and the marshes are lively with activity. Summer (June-August) is hot and dry, with temperatures regularly reaching 35°C, though evenings cool off. This is peach season — the local orchards come into production in late July and August, and the annual Peach Days festival draws visitors from across Utah in early September.
Autumn is arguably the best time to visit: the birding at Bear River is excellent again during the autumn migration, and Box Elder Canyon turns vivid colour in late September and early October. Winter is cold and occasionally snowy, with temperatures dropping well below freezing. The Golden Spike site is open year-round but can be icy.
