Getting There

Manchester has no public transit links worth speaking of — a car is essentially required. From New York City, the drive takes about three and a half hours via I-87 north to the New York Thruway and then Route 4 east into Vermont. From Boston, the drive is about three hours via I-91 north to Route 30 west. Albany is the nearest significant city, about 90 minutes away.

The nearest airport with regular scheduled service is Albany International (ALB), about 80 kilometres south. Burlington International (BTV) is further away but has more flights. Rental cars are available at both. There is an Amtrak station at Rutland, about 30 kilometres north, on the Vermonter route from New York, but the service is infrequent and no direct connection exists to Manchester.
