The Equinox has been a landmark on Route 7A in Manchester Village since 1769, when the main building was first established as a tavern and inn. The current white-columned structure dates largely from the 19th and early 20th centuries, and the Equinox House Historic District around it — a collection of Federal and Greek Revival buildings — forms the architectural heart of the village.
Even if you're not staying here, it's worth walking past to appreciate the building and grounds. The resort's spa, golf course, and falconry school are open to non-guests with prior booking. The marble sidewalks of Manchester Village — a local curiosity, laid in the 19th century from locally quarried stone — run past the Equinox and through the surrounding blocks.
