Getting There

Stowe is in north-central Vermont, about 45 minutes east of Burlington International Airport (BTV), which has daily flights from major northeastern cities including New York, Boston, Washington, and Philadelphia. The drive from Burlington follows Interstate 89 to Exit 10, then Route 100 north through Waterbury to Stowe. By road from Boston, Stowe is about 3 hours; from New York City about 4.5 to 5 hours.

There is no passenger rail service to Stowe, though Amtrak's Vermonter train stops at Waterbury-Stowe station (about 10 miles south), with connecting shuttle service to the village during ski season. A car is practically essential for exploring the area, as the mountain access roads and attractions outside the village center are not walkable. Many inns offer shuttle service to the ski mountain.
