Stowe has activities for every season. In winter, Stowe Mountain Resort on Mount Mansfield dominates, but the Trapp Family Lodge cross-country trail network is a quieter alternative. In summer and fall, hiking on Mount Mansfield is the main draw, along with the Stowe Recreation Path that follows the river through the village. The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum in the village is worth an hour any time of year. The Gold Brook Covered Bridge — also known as Emily's Bridge — is a short drive from the village and one of the most photographed covered bridges in New England.
