Maple Leaf Park sits on the site of a former reservoir in north Seattle. The open grass and paths are pleasant enough, but the reason to come is the height: this is one of the best public viewpoints in the north of the city.
On a clear day you can see downtown Seattle, Mount Rainier, the Cascades, Lake Washington, and parts of the Olympic Mountains. The old water tower still marks the hilltop.
