Eating Out

Seattle's food scene is driven by the Pacific Rim and the Pacific Ocean. The fishing boats work out of ports within a few hours of the city; the farmers' markets have been running since 1907; and the city's layered immigrant communities — Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Ethiopian — have produced a restaurant culture that rewards exploration. The waterfront is where you come for Dungeness crab and oysters. Capitol Hill and Fremont are where you come for everything else.
