Seattle rewards those who go deeper than the obvious. The Space Needle is worth doing once for the geography lesson — nowhere else does the city's position between mountains and water become so legible — but the richest experiences are in the neighbourhoods. Pioneer Square has the Underground Tour and the best concentration of art galleries in the city. Capitol Hill has the energy. The waterfront has the ferries and the fish. And on a clear day, everywhere has the mountain.
