Getting Around

Spokane is a car-friendly city and most visitors drive. The compact downtown core is walkable, and the Spokane River Centennial Trail — a paved multi-use path along the river — connects the downtown, Gonzaga campus, and several riverside parks without needing a car.

Spokane Transit Authority (STA) runs a network of bus routes throughout the city, with the downtown STA Plaza as the main hub. The City Line is a frequent bus rapid transit route connecting the medical district, downtown, and Gonzaga. Rideshare (Uber, Lyft) is available across the city. Parking downtown is generally easier and cheaper than in Seattle — surface lots and garages are plentiful.
