Riverside State Park

Large state park along the Spokane and Little Spokane rivers, with trails and basalt scenery.

Riverside State Park is one of Spokane's best outdoor escapes, stretching along the Spokane and Little Spokane rivers with basalt outcrops, forest, trails, and water access. The Bowl and Pitcher area is the classic introduction, with a footbridge over rushing water and dramatic rock formations.

It is close enough for a half-day from the city but large enough for hiking, cycling, paddling, or a longer picnic. Bring a Washington Discover Pass if arriving by car.
