Getting There

Huntington sits on I-64, about 80 kilometres west of Charleston and roughly 150 kilometres from Lexington, Kentucky. By road it is accessible but the drive from any major city involves at least two hours on the highway.

Tri-State Airport (HTS) serves Huntington with limited commercial flights, primarily regional connections to Charlotte and Washington Dulles. Amtrak's Cardinal line stops at Heritage Station three times a week in each direction, with service to Chicago and Washington DC. The train journey to Washington takes around nine hours — slow but scenic through the Appalachian mountains.
