Green Bottom Wildlife Management Area protects wetlands, fields, and Ohio River floodplain habitat north of Huntington. It is one of the area's better birding stops, with seasonal waterfowl, raptors, and open-country species.
The place is subtle rather than spectacular: bring binoculars, drive slowly, and expect the best visits around migration or early in the day. It pairs well with a broader Ohio River outing.
