Getting There

By car is the practical choice for most visitors. Morgantown sits at the junction of I-79 (running north–south between Pittsburgh and Charleston) and I-68 (running east toward Maryland). Pittsburgh is about 75 miles north — a 90-minute drive. Washington DC is about 200 miles east via I-68 and I-70.

By air: North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB) is about 20 miles south of Morgantown in Clarksburg, with connections through Charlotte, Chicago, and Washington Dulles. Pittsburgh International is the larger option if you're flying in from further away.

By bus: Greyhound connects Morgantown to Pittsburgh and Charleston. The university also runs Mountaineer Xpress, a charter bus service to Pittsburgh Airport that is well-used by students and worth checking.

By train: Amtrak does not serve Morgantown directly. The closest station is in Cumberland, Maryland, about 60 miles east on the Capitol Limited route.
