Cathedral Square Park

Small downtown Milwaukee square with civic history, markets, concerts, and a central meeting-place role.

Cathedral Square Park is one of downtown Milwaukee's compact civic spaces, the kind of park that matters less for acreage than for where it sits. It began as Courthouse Square and still works as a gathering point between offices, churches, restaurants, and the East Town street grid.

The park is especially useful when something is happening: summer markets, outdoor music, and seasonal events give it more energy than a casual map glance suggests. Even on an ordinary day, it is a good pause between the lakefront museums and the older downtown streets.
