Pinedale is primarily a gateway to the Wind River Range — the hiking, fishing, and wilderness camping in the mountains is the main event. In town, the Museum of the Mountain Man is a genuinely good history museum. Fremont Lake, a few miles out, is one of the deepest natural lakes in Wyoming and good for fishing and kayaking.
