Buenos Aires has two airports. Ezeiza (EZE) — officially Ministro Pistarini International Airport — handles international flights and is 35 km southwest of the city centre. Taxis and remises (private cars) are the standard transfer; the official taxi rank is outside arrivals, and the fare to the centre is metered. Journey time is 45 minutes to an hour in normal traffic, longer during rush hour. The Manuel Tienda León bus service connects Ezeiza to the city centre and major hotels. There is no train link.
Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP), the domestic airport on the river bank near Palermo, handles Argentine domestic flights and some regional routes to Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, and Brazil. Taxis from Aeroparque to the city centre take about 20 minutes.
International buses from neighbouring countries arrive at the Retiro bus terminal adjacent to Retiro train station, which is well connected to the rest of the city by subway and taxi. Long-distance buses from São Paulo, Santiago, Montevideo, and other regional capitals are an economical option for travellers already in South America.
The ferry from Montevideo and Colonia (Uruguay) arrives at the Buquebus terminal in Puerto Madero; high-speed ferries take about an hour from Montevideo, three hours from Colonia.
