Casa de Gobierno del Chaco

Provincial seat of government, fronting the central plaza

The Casa de Gobierno faces the Plaza 25 de Mayo and is the working seat of the Chaco provincial government. The building dates from the early 20th century and is a typical Argentine provincial palace — a long pale facade with arched windows and a central pediment.

Visitors are not normally admitted beyond the entrance hall. The facade and the colonnaded ground floor make it a fixed point on any walking tour of the centre, and the building lights up handsomely after dark.
