A long-standing cafe on the pedestrian street near the main plaza, good for breakfast, afternoon coffee, and a glass of local wine in the early evening. The terrace fills up with locals from mid-afternoon onward. Torrontés by the glass is the obvious choice — ask for one of the Cafayate producers.
The interior is simple and unhurried, with ceiling fans and a menu that covers medialunas, tostadas, and sandwiches alongside drinks. Not especially memorable as a room, but a genuinely local spot with fair prices and good people-watching from the street tables.
