Getting There

By bus

The main way to reach Tandil from Buenos Aires is by long-distance coach from Retiro bus terminal. Several companies — including El Rápido and Flecha Bus — run frequent services covering the roughly 350 kilometres in five to six hours, depending on stops. Buses are comfortable, with semi-cama (reclining seat) and cama ejecutivo (near-flat) options on the longer services; book online at Plataforma 10 or directly with the bus company. Tandil's bus terminal is a short taxi or remis ride from the city centre.

By car

The drive from Buenos Aires takes around three and a half hours via the Ruta Nacional 3 south to Azul, then cutting east on Ruta Provincial 74 into Tandil. The road is straightforward and in good condition. Having your own car is useful in Tandil — some of the best walking trails and viewpoints are a few kilometres outside the city centre, and the hills are easier to explore at your own pace.

By air

Tandil has a small airport (Aeródromo Tandil) with limited regional services. Most visitors arrive overland from Buenos Aires.
