Tandil's main park occupies a hillside on the edge of the city centre and is far more interesting than the average municipal green space. The grounds include a rose garden, a small lake, and walking paths through native vegetation. The highlight is the Castillo Morisco — a Moorish castle-style structure perched at the top of the park that houses a bar and restaurant, and which looks considerably more dramatic at dusk with a glass of wine in hand than it has any right to. The park is a favourite with locals for weekend walks and is usually lively on fine-weather evenings.
