Cerro La Movediza Trail Network

Walking and trail-running routes through the granite hills around Movediza

The area around Cerro La Movediza and the wider sierras to the west of the city has a network of walking trails that go well beyond the main tourist circuit. The terrain is granite boulders, low scrub, and open hillside — not technically demanding, but rewarding for anyone who wants more than a short stroll to a viewpoint. The trails are used by local trail runners and are well-trodden without being overcrowded. A half-day loop from the Piedra Movediza park through the surrounding hills covers varied ground and gives a much better sense of the landscape than the main attractions alone. Take water; the hills are sun-exposed and shade is limited.
