Jardín de Asia

Pan-Asian fine dining north of the second anillo

Jardín de Asia is the most ambitious restaurant in Santa Cruz, a pan-Asian fusion place that has been on the Latin America's 50 Best list more than once. The dining room is a low-lit garden of bamboo and stone with an open sushi counter at one end and a wok kitchen at the other; the food slides between Japanese, Thai, and Chinese influences, often using Bolivian river fish or beef.

It is well outside the colonial centre, in the modern Equipetrol district — take a taxi. Prices are high by Bolivian standards but a fraction of what an equivalent kitchen would charge in Lima or Buenos Aires. Booking essential at weekends.
