Fortaleza's Pinto Martins International Airport (IATA: FOR) is about 8 km south of the city centre and one of the busiest in the Northeast, with direct flights from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Lisbon, and Miami. Domestic flights from São Paulo take about 3.5 hours. By bus, long-distance coaches (rodoviária on Av. Borges de Melo) connect Fortaleza to Natal (8 hours), Recife (12 hours), and São Luís (8 hours) on comfortable overnight coaches. There is no rail connection to other major cities.
