João Pessoa's coastline stretches south from the city and has beaches to suit different moods. Tambau is the most convenient — reached by bus from the Lagoa park — with a promenade, bars, and a lively atmosphere in the evenings. Praia Cabo Branco, a few kilometres further south, is quieter and cleaner, backed by the white cliffs the cape is named for. Tambaba, about 25 km south, is one of Brazil's few official nudist beaches, set in a natural cove.
