Ponta Negra is the center of Natal's nightlife, especially around the Praia de Ponta Negra boardwalk. The bars here get going late — midnight is still early. Forró music venues are scattered through the city; Thursday nights at local clubs are usually the most authentic. The beach bars along the Via Costeira are better suited to sundown drinks than serious nightlife.
