The Chapadão is the flat, grassy clifftop at the north-east end of Praia do Centro — Pipa's iconic viewpoint and the place to come for sunset. From the edge of the cliff, the coast unfolds south past Praia do Amor and north towards Praia do Madeiro and Baía dos Golfinhos; the red-orange sandstone wall drops thirty metres straight to the sand below.
Walk up at the end of the afternoon, find a patch of grass, and wait. A small kiosk and one or two vendors usually appear with cold beer and cachaças by 16:30. After dark the cliff path becomes uneven; head back down to the village before then unless you have a torch.
