Pipa is a small village near Natal that has grown into one of northeast Brazil's most popular beach destinations. The dramatic coastline — tall red cliffs, sheltered coves, and warm water — draws surfers, backpackers, and a growing international crowd. There are four beaches around town, each with its own character: Praia do Centro is the liveliest, Praia do Amor is the most scenic, and Baía dos Golfinhos lives up to its name with regular dolphin sightings. The cliff-top viewpoint at the Chapadão is the place to catch the sunset.
By day it is sun, sea, and sand. By night, Pipa's main street turns into an open-air party with live music and dancing — if you want to sleep before sunrise, stay a little outside the centre. The restaurant scene is surprisingly good for a village this size, with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood.
