The town beach — Pipa's social engine and the place most visitors spend their days. The sand is wide at low tide, the water is calm and shallow, and a strip of barracas (beach bars) runs along the back of the beach serving cold beer, caipirinhas, and grilled fish to a soundtrack of forró and reggae. Sun loungers and shade umbrellas are for hire.
Boat trips to Baía dos Golfinhos leave from here, surfboards and SUPs can be rented at several shacks, and beach vendors sell everything from shrimp skewers to henna tattoos. Crowded in high season; quiet and pleasant outside it. The east end of the beach is calmer; the west end, near where the road comes down to the sand, is the louder party stretch.
