One of the most reliable places in the centre of Porto Seguro for traditional Bahian cooking. The moqueca here is made in the correct Bahian style — a clay pot, coconut milk, dendê palm oil, coriander, and fresh reef fish from the day's catch, served with rice, pirão (fish-stock porridge), and farofa. The dining room is open-sided and catches the sea breeze; you eat at plastic tables under a thatched roof, which is the right setting for this kind of meal.
The acarajé at the street cart outside is also good — ask for it with everything: vatapá, dried shrimp, tomato salsa. Order the moqueca for two and expect to be full. Lunch is the better meal here; the kitchen is at its best between noon and 3pm.
