Porto Seguro's nightlife is one of the loudest in Bahia, and it concentrates on the Passarela do Álcool — the waterfront strip where cachaça bars, live-music stages, and capoeira circles keep going until the early hours in season. The music is axé and forró, the drinks are sweet fruit cachaças in plastic cups, and the atmosphere is resolutely Brazilian beach-holiday. Arrive after 10pm; the strip empties before midnight in the off-season.
Away from the main strip, there are quieter bars around the Praça dos Pataxós and a handful of seafront esplanade cafes that work well for a drink at sunset. The barracas on the northern beaches double as daytime bars: cold beer, coconut water, and grilled fish served from plastic tables at the water's edge.
