A small but ornate 18th-century church at the heart of Recife Antigo, with a fine carved limestone facade and a richly gilded interior. The building is squeezed between converted warehouses on Rua Madre de Deus and easy to miss from the outside.
Hours are limited; the church is usually open in the late morning. Pair with a walk along Rua do Bom Jesus.
