The Skye Bar sits on the roof of the Unique, the Ruy Ohtake-designed hotel shaped like a slice of melon, on Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio just south of Paulista in Jardim Paulista. The bar is a long terrace with a shallow red infinity pool, looking out across Paulista and the Jardins. The drinks are expensive cocktails, the music is house, and the crowd is São Paulo at its most polished.
This is the obvious rooftop in the city and it lives up to most of the hype, especially at sunset. Reservations are sometimes needed; the dress code is enforced. For the view alone it is worth a single drink. The hotel restaurant downstairs is also serious — Emiliano Ohtake's Skye Restaurant — but the bar is the more memorable spot.
