Museu de Imigração do Estado de São Paulo

The Museu de Imigração do Estado de São Paulo occupies the former immigrant hostel that received newcomers to São Paulo from 1887 to 1978. Its exhibitions explain how immigrants from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and other parts of Brazil helped build the state and reshape the city.

The museum is strongest when it connects personal stories with the bigger history of work, coffee, industry, and neighbourhood life. A replica coffee farm and occasional steam-train rides add a more tangible layer, especially for families.
