Parque do Carmo is one of the largest green spaces in eastern Sao Paulo, with broad recreation areas, preserved Atlantic Forest, and a popular cherry-tree garden maintained by the local Japanese community. It is a good stop for a quieter, more local park experience than Ibirapuera.
The park has an 8.2-km cycle path, picnic and barbecue areas, and seasonal cherry blossoms that draw crowds during Sakura Matsuri.
