Alameda Itu cuts across the Jardins shopping grid between Rua Oscar Freire and Rua Augusta. The street is quieter and slightly more curated than Oscar Freire itself, with a mix of Brazilian designer boutiques (Reinaldo Lourenço, Adriana Barra), good independent perfumeries and bookshops, and a couple of well-regarded cafes. The buildings are low-rise Jardins typical — two- and three-storey townhouses with deep landscaped gardens between them.
This is the street to walk if you have already done Oscar Freire and want a less concentrated, less crowded version of the same scene. The cafes here are also the best mid-Jardins option for a long pause.
