BH Shopping opened in 1979 as the first large-format shopping mall in Belo Horizonte and is still one of the most upmarket. It sits in the Belvedere neighbourhood at the south end of the city, with around 300 stores on three floors and a large food court and cinema complex.
It is mostly useful as a wet-weather alternative or as a familiar refuge if you have been doing a lot of street-level travelling. The Brazilian and international fashion brands are well represented; the cinema runs original-language films most evenings.
