Buzin is a long-established restaurant on Rua das Pedras that has maintained its reputation through years when Búzios restaurants have come and gone. It serves straightforward Brazilian coastal cooking — grilled fish, moqueca, seafood rice — with good technique and consistent quality. Nothing on the menu is surprising; everything is done properly.
The moqueca at Buzin is particularly good: a deeply flavoured fish stew made with coconut milk, tomatoes, coriander, and palm oil, served in a clay pot with white rice, pirão (a thick gravy made from the cooking broth and manioc flour), and farofa. This is the dish that defines the restaurant, and the version here is one of the better ones in town.
