A traditional fishing beach where colourful boats are still pulled up on the sand each morning. The Lagoa de Itaipu sits just behind the beach, and the Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu, housed in the ruins of a 19th-century monastery, displays artifacts from the prehistoric shell mounds (sambaquis) found along this coast. Quieter than its neighbours and with real local character.
