Our Lady of the Pillar Chapel

Our Lady of the Pillar Chapel is one of Taubaté's oldest surviving buildings, dating from the early 18th century. Its modest scale is part of the appeal: this is not a grand church, but a rare piece of the colonial town that still reads clearly in the modern city.

Stop by while walking the centre, especially if you are interested in old religious architecture. The chapel is most worthwhile as a quick historic marker rather than a long visit.
