Granja Comary

Granja Comary is the training centre of the Brazilian Confederation of Football (CBF), set in the hills outside Teresópolis at around 870 metres altitude. The facility has served as the permanent base for the Brazilian national men's and women's football teams since the 1980s, and the altitude and cool temperatures make it suitable for high-intensity preparation. The centre includes multiple pitches, recovery facilities, accommodation, and a museum dedicated to Brazilian football history.

The complex is not generally open to the public, but organised tours are sometimes available, and the entrance area and the surrounding road give views of the training pitches. For football fans, it is worth a drive past even from the outside. The CBF museum within covers the history of Brazilian football from its early years to the national team's five World Cup victories, with trophies, memorabilia, and match footage. Entry to the museum, when available, is separately ticketed.

A story
The Brazilian national team based itself at Granja Comary during the 2014 World Cup, played on home soil. After Neymar's injury in the quarterfinal against Colombia, the squad regrouped here before their infamous 7–1 semifinal defeat to Germany — a result so shocking it has its own Portuguese name, the Mineirazo. The players' messages from that week are preserved in a kind of informal memorial at the complex.
