Teresópolis's main draw is the Parque Nacional da Serra dos Órgãos, whose entrance is at the edge of town. The park's rock spires — particularly the Dedo de Deus — are visible from most of the town and give the place its distinctive silhouette. Hiking ranges from easy Atlantic Forest walks to serious multi-day routes, including the classic Travessia Teresópolis–Petrópolis.
Away from the park, the town has a pleasant Praça Olímpica area for eating and wandering, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with craft breweries and farm stays (pousadas) that have proliferated in recent years.
