Caminhos de Pedra is a rural route through the older Italian-settled countryside east of Bento Gonçalves. The name means "stone paths", and the best stops are old immigrant houses, mills, canteens, and farm shops that have been turned into places to eat, taste, and buy local products.
It can feel touristy on busy weekends, but the bones are real: stone walls, timber balconies, family recipes, sheep's-milk cheese, pasta, wine, grape juice, and the kind of rural architecture that explains where the Serra Gaúcha's Italian identity came from. Go hungry and move slowly.
